Let's Read
Introduced in 2005, the Let's Read program
includes the Dolly Parton Imagination Library book club that brings a book to
every enrolled preschool child each month. The books are age appropriate, high
quality, and diverse in subject matter. The Let's Read program includes the
Dolly Parton Imagination Library, quarterly Let's Read newsletter and New Born
Baby Resource Guide and Imagination Library Story Hour.
Newborn Baby Resource Guide
A Resource Guide is provided in English and
Spanish to new parents in Yakima and Kittitas Counties. This comprehensive
community resource guide features the names and contact information for
services. Also, basic developmental information is included to educate parents
and to promote early brain development with infants. Guides are distributed
through physician offices, WIC and health clinic offices or upon request
through the Circle of Success office.
Let's Read Newsletter
The Let's Read newsletter is sent to enrolled
families each quarter with facts on health and literacy development. Age
specific information on the development expectations of their child is included
with the newsletter. The information is sent in the language preference of the
family.
