Let’s Read Newsletter

The Let’s Read newsletter is sent to enrolled families each quarter with facts on health and literacy development. Age specific information on the development expectations of their child is included with the newsletter. The information is sent in the language preference of the family.

Packages are provided in English and Spanish throughout Yakima County. Items are carefully selected to educate parents and promote early brain development with infants. A comprehensive community resource guide is also included. Packages are distributed through physician offices, WIC and health clinic offices or upon request through the COS office. The Newborn Baby Package is the initial contact by Circle of Success with a family. Between 3,500 and 4,000 Newborn Baby Packages are delivered each year. There is no cost to parents for the packets and they are funded by grant and donation dollars.

Introduced in 2005, the Let’s Read program includes the Dolly Parton Imagination Library book club that brings a book to every enrolled preschool child each month. The books are age appropriate, high quality, and diverse in subject matter.

• Sponsorship of one Newborn Baby Package per year. The program is open to all children 0 to 5 years of age!
• Quarterly copies of the Let’s Read newsletter.
